AN EXPLORATION OF IDENTITY THROUGH VISUAL ART.

BIG ME.

A SEVEN FOOT TALL SELF-PORTRAIT

For this project, I created a seven foot tall self-portrait piece inspired by the artworks of Danish illustrator Kay Nielsen. Throughout a month long process, I explored themes of confidence and revival within the piece. The final painting was created through various work sessions, building up layers of watered down acrylic paint to create a soft but fierce feminine portrait.

Skin memory.

An exploration of the past through physical imperfection.

A series of abstract acrylic paintings visualizing how unique physical experiences shape identity. How do our imperfections affect our perception of self, and how others perceive us?
